Staff from a Fordham firm will be heading out on a marathon climb this weekend as part of their company’s charity challenge for local and national good causes.
The senior management team from DS Smith Packaging will begin their 24-hour Three Peaks challenge, to climb the three highest mountains of England, Scotland and Wales, on Saturday.
Their effort is in support of East Anglian Children’s Hospices (EACH)and the team is aiming to raise £1 for every foot climbed.
As well as the Three Peaks challenge, a group of the firm’s executives will be trying to raise £100,000 for heart disease and cancer charities by cycling more than 900 miles round the country, visiting various DS Smith sites, including Fordham, from where they will be setting out on the next leg tomorrow..
Graham Cox, managing director at Fordham, said: “DS Smith Packaging has factories across the country and these will provide strategic bases for our fundraising drive. We hope that each community will throw its weight behind us and dig deep into its pockets.” For more information about the charity challenge, please go to: http://www.dssmith-packaging.com/summer_of_fundraising_2013
