Flooding at historic Moulton landmark

Moulton flood

Heavy rainfall has caused flooding in parts of the Newmarket area over the last week as this photograph of Moulton’s historic Packhorse bridge, sent in by Journal reader, Lesley Nicols , shows.

Last week the Environment Agency had issued flood warnings for the River Kennett from Ousden to Freckenham with roads are at risk in Dalham, Moulton and Kentford.

With heavy rain falling yesterday and more rain forecast for tomorrow the Agency has advised residents worried about flooding to check their flood risk, and get early flood warnings, by visiting its website or by calling the 24-hour Floodline on 0845 988 1188 or 0345 988 1188.
