The skeleton of Hyperion, one of the greatest horses in the history of racing, was one of the star attractions for youngsters attending Newmarket’s National Horseracing Museum’s half-term family fun day on Monday.

The event included a host of activities for young visitors, including a chance to ride the racehorse simulator, a workshop to make pop-up jockey puppets and the opportunity to try on jockeys’ racing silks, as well as sketch some of the museum’s best-known exhibits.
