A Newmarket singer will be heading to Glasgow for the MOBO awards on Saturday, where she is nominated for Newcomer of the Year.
Etta Bond, 23, is one of ten musicians nominated in the category, which previously launched the careers of established artists such as Estelle, Rita Ora and Chipmunk.
Speaking to the Journal, Etta said: “I’m really excited and looking forward to the occasion.
“I don’t know if I’m going to win, but whether I win or not I’m just excited about my first MOBO experience.”
The former King’s School and Fairstead House School pupil lived in Newmarket from the age of two until she moved to London at 16 to take up a place at the Italia Conti Academy of Performing Arts.
She has worked with chart-topping stars Plan B, Professor Green, Kano and Wretch 32.
The MOBOs take place on Saturday at the SSE Hydro arena. You can watch all the action as it unfolds on BBC Three from 9pm.
