Eight people suffered minor injuries after a three-vehicle crash on the A142 Soham bypass on Boxing Day.

Emergency services, including four ambulances and two fire crews, were called to the scene shortly after 12.30pm, where three casualties were trapped inside one of the cars.

Firefighters used cutting equipment to remove the roof, two rear doors, rear seats and the tailgate to release them.

An East of England Ambulance Service spokesman said four people were taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge, with minor neck injuries, while the other four were treated at the scene.

Jon Wade, watch commander at Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service, said: “All the emergency services worked extremely well together to deliver a safe and efficient outcome.”
