Early start for stud tour season

The 2013 tour season at Newmarket’s National Stud gets under way on Monday – a week earlier than usual to include local schools’ half-term.

Visitors will be able to see mares and foals, the four Group 1 winning stallions: Bahamian Bounty, Cockney Rebel, Pastoral Pursuits and Dick Turpin as well as retired Grand National winner Amberleigh House.

Chris Winch, the artist in residence, will have his studio gallery open to visitors with an exhibition of watercolours of newborn foals. The tours, at 11.15 and and 2pm, last about 90 minutes and booking is essential.
