Plans to construct 117 new homes in Beck Row have received no objections from the village’s parish council.
Councillors voted in favour of the plans put forward by Aspal Limited to build the homes on land situated just off Aspal Lane at this month’s parish council meeting.
Earlier this year the proposals, which were submitted in to Forest Heath District Council (FHDC) in August, were met with anger by residents living at nearby Rozel Court.
“We decided to agree to the plans as amendments were made to reduce the number of homes and include more green space,” said Gary Peachey, chairman of Beck Row Parish Council.
“Hopefully these homes will bring in young families to the village along with allowing those people who are retiring and want to down size but stay in the area remain here,”
The plans will now be decided by planning officials at FHDC at a later date.
