Isleham’s new £1.5 million state-of-the-art community centre, The Beeches will open to the public later this month.
The project has been awarded grants including £152,000 from the Football Foundation and £50,000 from Sport England and is expected to become a hub for the local community and sports groups, including home to Isleham’s sixteen football teams and cricket club.
Village resident and centre manager Louise Hounsome, is encouraging villagers and visitors from the surrounding area to come along to an open weekend at the centre on December 14 and 15.
Facilities at the new centre include a licensed bar and café, hall with stage, meeting rooms as well as outdoor play area and sports changing facilities.
“After the vision and tireless dedication over six years of those within the village and parish council who have turned a dream into a reality, it is so exciting that we can proudly show off our fantastic centre to everyone,” said Louise,
Bookings are already being taken for parties, weddings, events and regular group meetings and an official opening of The Beeches will take place next year.
