College to specialise in applied learning
BOTTISHAM Village College has been awarded specialist status in applied learning.
The college will get an additional 90,000 a year in funding to support the scheme, which starts this month.
Under the applied learning initiative, GCSE students will be able to get hands-on, practical experience in various subjects, through special master classes and workshops.
"Our new applied learning specialism will complement our ongoing development of a fully personalised curriculum and all our students will directly benefit from the opportunities and initiatives on offer," said school principal Kate Evans.
"Welcoming visitors from local businesses and industry to share experiences of the workplace and help develop students' skills will be vital to its success."
The school will also be able to continue its investment in updating facilities, allowing students to experience a simulated workspace environment.
