Churches Together in Newmarket and District hosted a Christmas Day Lunch in the Catholic Church Hall, welcoming over 50 guests and volunteers from throughout the district.
The lunch was organised for those who may be on their own, housebound, or those who wanted to share in a friendly and welcoming lunch.
Each guest received delicious food and gifts and took part in singing.
The event was run entirely by volunteers – from the catering to decorating and gift wrapping.
Volunteer organiser Danielle Pierson said: “Guests have told us how lovely a time they had, especially since the alternative was to spend the holiday alone. We are so very grateful for the generous donations of time and money from the community. Thank you to all those who helped financially, and to all the helpers who came on Christmas Eve to prepare and on Christmas Day to serve and tidy up.”
