Children seek adventure at new play area

CHILDREN in Mildenhall will be able to play on a new playground in the town after it was officially opened on Saturday morning.

The new 50,000 adventure play area in Mildenhall Woods was opened by Councillor Rona Burt, chairman of Forest Heath Council.

To mark the opening, school children from the town were invited to the woods to try out the new equipment.

Councillors gave the go-ahead for the play area, on the site which backs on to College Heath Road, at planning meeting in February.

Set across three areas, it includes a picnic and seating area, adventure climbing frame and giant boulders for children to climb on. In the future the area could also be home to a new BMX bike track and outdoor gym trail.
