Barway Road closed after road collision

A LORRY became trapped on a level crossing in Barway Road, Barway, this morning.

At 6.30am a lorry, coming from Barway, was on the level crossing when the barrier came down and a car, coming from behind the lorry, swerved and hit a road sign.

A spokesman for Cambridgeshire Police advised people to stay clear of the area and said Barway Road would be closed from the A142 until 11am today.

He said no other emergency services attended and no one had been injured.

The Highways Agency, British Transport Police and Network Rail remain at the scene to clear the road.
