Annual creative writing awards return for 21st year

Entries are now being taken for an annual creative writing competition.

The 21st Wills Writing Awards were officially launched by organisers at the end of last week.

Open to all those under 26 years old, the awards were set up in memory of former amateur jockey Martin Wills who died aged 39 in April 1992.

Entrants are required to submit one piece of creative writing, fact or fiction, around a horseracing theme.

The competition is split into three categories, under 26, under 19 and under 15.

Winners will be presented with their prizes at the first day of Newmarket’s Craven Meeting on Wednesday, April 17.

The closing date for entries is February 28. For more details visit www.willswritingawards.co.uk.
