Animal magic at Soham Library

YOUNGSTERS have been comparing meerkats and other exotic animals at Soham library.

More than 30 lucky children got to handle slithering snakes and lizards, as well as furry meerkats Itchy and Scratchy.

The event was sponsored by Soham Town Council and co-ordinated by Reptile Experience.

"It was really good, the children really enjoyed it," said library supervisor Carol Knappett.

Soham library is organising a host of activities throughout the summer, which also include craft skills weekly on Tuesdays until August 24, from 10.30am to 11.30am.

Children have also been challenged to read six books throughout the summer and collect stickers for each book, once they have completed the challenge.
