Am-dram chairman Ali dies
Tributes have been paid to the chairman of a Bottisham drama group who has died aged 40.
A message on the Bottisham Players’ Facebook page said Ali White, who was also a carer at the Queens Court care home in the village, was admitted to hospital with pneumonia about 10 days before he died.
During his stay tumours were discovered and Mr White, who lived in Soham with his wife Michelle, died over the weekend.
The message from the amateur dramatics group said: “Ali White, our fantastic chairman and good friend, had been unwell for most of this year - including during the pantomime run when he played the dame - due to various ailments, and was finally admitted to hospital with pneumonia about 10 days ago. Since then tumours were discovered and, devastatingly, he has passed away.”
His funeral will be held at Holy Trinity Church, Bottisham, at 2pm on Thursday.
