The Mildenhall branch of the Royal British Legion has raised more than £8,000 following last November’s annual Poppy Appeal.
Following a final count-up, the branch collected £8,273.19 from the sale of poppies, and other associated memorabilia to mark the event at various locations across the town.
The figure is higher than the one collected 12 months earlier which came in at just under £8,000.
“Mildenhall Royal British Legion wishes to thank all those who helped with our 2013 appeal,” said Colin Plowright, spokesman for the branch.
“The kind donations will help to continue to keep up our vital well being and benevolent work which we carry out throughout the year.”
