Newmarket MP Matthew Hancock has hailed his sixth jobs and apprenticeships fair in Newmarket on Friday, a success.

Held at Newmarket Academy, the event was aimed at local businesses and organisations and for these looking for a job or exploring a career change.

The fair was supported by local business groups and organisations, and backed by the team at Newmarket Job Centre Plus.

Seminars ran throughout the morning, covering topics such as CV writing, preparing for interviews and tips on finding jobs and apprenticeships.

“I was delighted to meet so many interesting businesses looking to take on more employees to help them expand and grow,” said Mr Hancock.

”Unemployment in Newmarket has fallen by 60 per cent since 2010, but I will continue to hold jobs fairs until we have full employment in the town.

“Thanks to all those who attended and especially the academy for hosting with the help of their brilliant student ambassadors,” he added.
