A Newmarket Brownie Pack is looking to attract more members.
Brownie Guider, Tina Walker, of the 3rd Newmarket Brownies said; “We currently have a number of vacancies in our unit and our members have written some letters with their ideas of why they think other girls should join.”
“Brownies is good because you always have fun and there’s always a surprise,” read one letter and another said; “I recommend Brownies for girls because it is the best club I have ever been to.”
The group, for girls aged between seven and 10, has been running for three years and meets every Thursday from 6pm to 7.30pm at the Little Buds nursery in Brickfields Avenue on Studlands.
Activities vary depending on what ideas the girls for what they would like to do. “We always follow the Girlguiding motto Girls in the lead,” said Tina. “This term we have tried the following built a campfire and toasted marshmallows over it, followed clues along a local trail, made paper jewellery bracelets, created an ornament from natural materials, made and decorated cakes, as well as playing lots of games, singing songs and generally having lots and lots of fun,” she added.
Anyone interested in join the pack can contact Tina on email firstname.lastname@example.org or telephone 01638 560071 or 07901 646247.
