Volunteers are being sought for the valuable work of Home Start which has expanded into West Suffolk.
The service, which supports families in times of need, is running eight week training courses for volunteers from April 15 at Great Barton Village Hall and from April 28 at Stowmarket Community Centre.
Forest Heath District Council and St Edmundsbury Borough Council are supporting the expansion.
The charity is looking for people with parenting experience who can offer family support for those facing challenging times such as adapting to a new baby, relationship break downs, bereavement, financial difficulties or stress.
Lucy Carter, families and communities service manager for both councils, said: “Home-Start is about people who have lived some of these experiences and come out the other side, going into another family’s home, sharing what they have been through and offering support.” Call 01379 678552 for more.
