Thousands of pounds raised at this summer’s Burwell Carnival will be handed out to local good causes at a special presentation evening tomorrow at the village’s Ex-Service Club.

Over 20 local groups including, Rainbows, Scouts, Twinning Association, the Day Centre, and Burwell Swallows and Tigers footballers as well as those from surrounding areas including Newmarket Hotshots, Little Windmills (Reach) and the KD Theatre Academy of Soham, are all in line for a windfall when they receive their charity cheques.

Since 2007, over £71,000 has been raised and donated by the carnival organisers who always like to hear from groups that have received donations about how the money raised has helped them. Planning for Carnival 2015 is well underway with the theme set to be announced during the evening.

The committee is always looking for volunteers so if you think you can help contact: publicity@burwell-carnival.info or go along to presentation night which starts at 7.30pm.
