Newmarket’s big Oaks hope So Mi Dar is out of the race.
Trainer John Gosden confirmed last night that the filly would miss the Epsom showpiece after pulling out lame yesterday morning.
After her scintillating win in the Musidora Stakes at York last week, the daughter of Dar Re Mi had been as short as 5-2 for the classic.
The Irish Oaks will now be her primary target with Gosden hoping she could overcome the setback in as little as ten days.
“We would call it a one to two out of five if you graded it on lameness,” said Gosden. “You cannot go into any major race thinking you can walk for ten days and then be ready to race. Luckily I am training for proper owner-breeders who understand the game and took it well.”
