A funeral service for a stablelad who died while riding out will be held in Newmarket later this month.

Jason Wellings, 42, who worked for town trainer James Fanshawe, fell from the horse he was riding out at around 7am on Friday, November 28, following a heart attack.

Although attempts were made to revive him they ultimately proved unsuccessful and he died on his way to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge.

Mr Wellings’ funeral service will take place at St Mary’s Church, on Thursday, December 18, at 11.30am.

He will then be cremated at the West Suffolk Crematorium, Risby at 12.45pm.
