Fun is Crucial at Crew event

Pupils from St Louis Catholic Academy will be among around 500 Year 6 children from 16 schools across the Forest Heath District at this week’s 21st annual Crucial Crew event.

The four-day programme, organised by the Forest Heath Crime Prevention Panel, has been held at Mildenhall Stadium in West Row. Supported by Suffolk Police, Suffolk Fire and Rescue, St John Ambulance plus Forest Heath District Council and Suffolk County Council, its aim is to educate the youngsters on a variety of life skills and safety issues. Organiser Heather Highton said: “The children are engaged in serious issues yet we aim to make their experiences exciting. While we feel the importance of conveying life skills we are also intent on ensuring the children have fun while doing so.” As well as St Louis other local primary schools taking part included Fairstead House, Laureate, Houldsworth Valley. St. Christopher’s, Red Lodge,Moulton, All Saints’, Paddocks, Lakenheath, St Mary’s and Great Heath in Mildenhall, Beck Row and West Row.
