The first foal sired by equine superstar Frankel was sold at a public auction in London earlier this week for £1.15 million.

The foal, along with his dam Crystal Gaze, who is back in foal to the 14-time race winner, was knocked down for the six-figure price tag at the Goffs London Sale held at the Orangery in the grounds of Kensington Palace, to Michael Vincent Magnier, who was bidding on behalf of Coolmore Stud.

Bidding for the unnamed colt, which was consigned by Tweenhills Farm an the inaugural event, lasted barely five minutes before Magnier struck the winning bid for the County Tipperary based stud.
