Newmarket Library is launching a new club for people who are keen to read more this year.

The Reading Challenges Group has been set up with the help of avid local reader, Samantha Street, who managed to read 50 books from the library last year. The first meeting was held at Newmarket Library on Tuesday and pictured are members Maureen Chumas, Peggy Parcell, Samantha Street and Tony Malindine. James Powell, Suffolk Libraries marketing and communications manager said: “ The plan is that everyone meets up regularly to share recent books they have read and let everyone in the group know how they are doing.” Local crime author Alison Bruce is also running a regular reading group meeting at the library, every Friday during school term time between 1pm and 3pm.
