NEWMARKET JOURNAL FEB 2012. VANESSA HOOLEY RETIRING AS BURSAR FROM ALL SAINTS PRIMARY SCHOOL AFTER 28 YEARS, PRESENTED WITH A LAPTOP BY THE SCHOOL WITH ALEXANDER DUDGEON, LAUREN POWER, BEN TAYLOR AND NATASHA CUTTER.

A BURSAR and governor from a Newmarket school who has retired after almost 28 years has been showered with leaving gifts by pupils and staff.

Vanessa Hooley retired from All Saints Primary School on Friday.

Staff and pupils presented her with gifts including a laptop, gift tokens and bouquets of flowers.

Mrs Hooley, who lives in Newmarket, said: “It has been a privilege to work here. I have worked with some very dedicated and professional staff and governors and some delightful children over the years. It has all gone very quickly.”

Her leaving celebrations included a staff meal, a party with the many colleagues she had worked with over the years and a special assembly at the Vicarage Road school.

Mrs Hooley originally joined as a part-time member of staff when her children were young.

She plans to spend more time going to the theatre and going for long-distance walks, as well as spending time with her daughters, Isabel and Rachael, and her grandchildren, George and Ava.

She will continue to work as a school governor.
