Four Newmarket men bailed by police after assault and robbery

Four people arrested in connection with a robbery in Newmarket have been released on police bail.

The incident took place at around 6pm on Tuesday November 3, along the Yellow Brick Road near Rayes Lane, where the 50-year-old victim was walking when he was surrounded by four males who assaulted him and stole cash and a bank card from his pockets.

Three men and a teenage boy were subsequently arrested on suspicion of robbery yesterday afternoon, Wednesday 4 November. They are all from Newmarket and aged 38, 31, 18 and 16.

They were taken to Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre for questioning, where they have been bailed to return to on Monday 4 January 2016.

Detectives are continuing to appeal for any witnesses to the incident to come forward.
