Mildenhall knife amnesty nets 140 blades
MORE than 140 knives have been collected at a special bin outside Mildenhall Police Station as part of a year-long campaign.
As a result of the Bin A Blade campaign, 145 knives were collected outside the Kingsway station in the town.
The bin was one of six established across the county in a bid to make Suffolk streets safer.
“I would like to thank all those people who have chosen to dispose of unwanted knives, in our six amnesty bins over the past year,” said Simon Ash, chief constable.
“Every blade binned makes the county a safer place.”
Plans are in place to keep the bins in operation throughout 2012.
