Exning landlord acquitted of assault

AN Exning pub landlord and horse trainer has been acquitted of two charges of assault.

Ken Clutterbuck, 64, of Chapel Street had previously denied assaulting his ex-wife, Jane Degnan, at his Pond House Stables in Exning and a charge of assaulting Nicholas Hyde.

A trial was listed for Friday at West Suffolk Magistrates’ Court in Bury St Edmunds where the Crown Prosecution Service offered no evidence against Mr Clutterbuck, landlord of The Wheatsheaf pub, who was acquitted of both charges.

The court also ordered that his costs should be met from central funds.
