Wickhambrook is planning its first summer carnival for more than six years.
A group of villagers have got together to organise the event, which will be held on Saturday, July 13.
Sam Green, who is one of the organisers said: “The last time the village held a full-on carnival was in 2006, so we decided it would be nice to re-instate it after an absence of several years.
“We would also invite independent traders who are interested in having a stall to contact us and to hear from any local bands who would be interested in performing during the evening.”
The carnival, which will be held at the village’s recreation ground, will include a procession of floats put together by village organisations, stalls run by independent traders, refreshments and other activities, including a fun fair and body zorbing. Money raised by the event will be available for grants to village organisations.
