Apple pressing, races and story telling were just some of the activities which went on at this month’s Apple Day celebrations in Newmarket.

Organised by the town’s Go Wild in Newmarket group, the sixth annual event was staged at St Felix Meadow, just off Noel Murless Drive and was attended by local youngsters and their families pictured above with Anthony Haskins and Harriet Horsham, chairman and committee member of Go Wild in Newmarket which is a voluntary group, conserving wild spaces and pockets of woodland for everyone in the town to enjoy. “ We want children to have fun in the open air as they learn about biodiversity,” said one of the organisers, Rachel Wood.
