A document storage company near Bury St Edmunds is poised for expansion after securing a prestigious new contract.
Box-it East, based in Symonds Farm Industrial Estate, in Risby, has just been awarded law firm Birketts LLP’s storage and retrieval contract for the next three years.

It means Box-it East, which already handles 200,000 storage boxes, will now deal with an extra 30,000 archive boxes.
It will also allow the company, which currently employs eight staff, to recruit new employees.
Managing director, Claire Brooks, who was appointed at the start of the year, said: “These are exciting times for Box-it East.
She said: “Having taken the lead in January, I couldn’t have hoped for a better start to the year.
“We’re presently a team of eight, full time staff and with the additional business we have secured we’re looking to recruit more employees and increase our warehouse capacity.
She said: “Our clients appreciate that we offer a personal and trusted service and because of this we continue to grow year upon year.”
Box-it East moved to its purpose-built facility at Risby just three years ago where it has capacity to store more than 300,000 boxes.
The new contract means Birketts becomes one of Box-it East’s biggest and most prestigious clients standing alongside a number of county councils and the NHS.
Chris Simmons, IT director at Birketts, said: “We undertook a complete review of our records management system and identified a number of areas for improvement in preparation for relocating to our new head office premises in Ipswich.
“One fundamental requirement was the ability for a supplier to collect and deliver individual files as well as complete boxes or box sets, to and from any of our four offices on a next day, before midnight service.
“Claire Brooks understood the needs of our records team, visiting each office and discussing the storage nuances of Deeds, Wills, Probate and other files types, and then put together a customised system to meet our needs.”
