Holiday giant Center Parcs has just unveiled its latest high rise attraction to entice families to its Elveden Forest retreat.

The company has taken the covers off four new luxury treehouses, each of which can accommodate eight guests at the 27-year-old resort at Thetford.

Center Parcs has announced that it is launching a nationwide search for The UKs Top Treehouse, led by wildlife presenter and adventurer Steve Backshall.

Center Parcs has announced that it is launching a nationwide search for The UKs Top Treehouse, led by wildlife presenter and adventurer Steve Backshall.

The firm, which employs about 1,500 people in Suffolk, will not reveal the cost of the top of the range treehouses but say they are among a number of additions to its five UK villages in a year of record investment.

Center Parcs’ chief executive Martin Dalby said: “We are continually investing in our business to ensure we offer the best quality and continue to innovate with new ideas.

“We welcome families who haven’t visited before but there are also a lot of Center Parcs fans who come time and time again.

“We want to offer our guests that something special each time they come so there are always new things to see and do.

He added: “Our treehouses deliver another level of luxury for families wanting to live that childhood dream of being high in the trees and have great adventures in the forest.

“The treehouses at Elveden Forest are just one of a number of investments we are making this year.”

The treehouses are set in 400 acres of woodland.

Work on the treehouse apartments began at Elveden Forest in February this year.

There is no need to worry about scrambling up the branches to reach the treehouse for each one will be accessed by a spiral staircase winding round a faux tree trunk.

Each treehouse has three large luxurious bedrooms on the lower level; one double room with en suite bathroom and two twin rooms with en suite shower-rooms. On the upper level of the treehouse, the master suite offers guests perfect views of the surrounding treetops. All four have private balconies, accessible through full height, sliding glass doors.

Each is fitted with the latest technology including a plasma TV mounted above the fireplace and iPod docks throughout.

The open kitchen has a microwave, dishwasher, fridge freezer, oven and wine cooler.
