A Burwell woman will be gunning for glory later this month after making the final of Channel 4 gameshow Countdown.
Judy Bursford competed in the hit show earlier this year, winning seven straight matches before being defeated.
Subsequently being called back tocompete in the finals, Mrs Bursford has been seeded sixth of the 115 who started the process.
Viewers can see how she fares in the finals when her episode is broadcast during the week beginning December 14.
Mrs Bursford, who did appear in an episode of Countdown in 2005, only to be defeated in her first attempt by “a 14-year-old whizz-kid”, told the Newmarket Journal she did not expect to make the finals stage.
“I have always loved Countdown since it started in the 1980s,” she said. “I watch every day.
“All of the crew are really nice people, they make you feel really at home. I loved it.
“I just wanted to go on and see if I could do better than last time.”
