Members of the 3rd Newmarket Brownies set out to do something special for the community as part of their celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Brownie movement.

Helped by Newmarket town and district councillor Michael Anderson they took part in a community litter pick on the town’s Studlands Park estate at the end of last month .

Forest Heath District Council supplied litter picking equipment and the girls collected sacks of rubbish which the council disposed of. “Brownies have a motto, a Brownie thinks of others before herself and does a good turn every day,” said unit leader Tina Walker, “this was the 3rd Newmarket Brownies’ good turn for their local community.”
