Boy bitten by dog as he cycles to school

Police in Mildenhall are trying to trace the owner of a dog after a 13-year-old boy was bitten.

he was riding his bike along the cycle path in Wamil Way at around 8.15am on Monday, May 19, when he slowed down to overtake a woman walking a Jack Russell-type of dog.

As he passed the dog jumped up and grabbed hold of the boy’s leg with its teeth. He managed to push the dog off and the woman said sorry before walking off towards Wamil Court.The teenager then realised his leg was bleeding and had to seek medical help and get the wound dressed.

The dog owner is described as white, in her mid-forties, between 5ft 6in and 5ft 8in tall, with brown/greying shoulder length hair. Police are urging her or anyone with information about this incident to contact PC Alan Kemp on 101.
