THE Wild West was the theme for a summer fete at Newmarket's Ditton Lodge Primary School.
Pupils were invited to dress up as cowboys and indians for Saturday's event on the school playing fields.

Activities enjoyed by visitors included panning for gold, a bouncy castle and face painting.

Ballet and choir performances were held by pupils from reception to Year 4. There was also a tombola, raffles and a barbecue.

Staff hope to have raised around £1,500 from the fete, which the school council will decide what to spend on.

"It was well supported, it was very enjoyable and great fun," said Sheena Datson, school administrator. There was a slight shower but it did not spoil any of the activities."
