PLANS are under way for a musical concert for the people of Newmarket.
The idea is the brainchild of town clerk Isabelle Barrett and is set to be funded by town county councillors Bill Sadler and Lisa Chambers.

The show will be staged at the town's Memorial Hall in October.

Mrs Barrett explained that the council already spent money providing summer entertainment for children, as well as organising the Battle of the Band rock competition for aspiring musicians, so thought it would be a good idea to put on a show for all residents.

Members of the town council's leisure services backed the idea, which is likely to cost around £600.

What do you think should be in the show? Email your views to alison.hayes@newmarketjournal.co.uk.
