POLICE arrested four illegal immigrants on Saturday after they were seen jumping out of a lorry on the A142 at Soham.
Following a tip-off from a member of the public, eight police vehicles, including the force helicopter, attended the scene at 11am and arrested the four men, aged between 22 and 35 years old.
They were taken into custody at Parkside Police Station, Cambridge, before being handed to Oakington immigration centre at Longstanton just before 9pm.
A spokeswoman for Cambridgeshire Police said: "Whoever called us had seen some people jumping out of the side curtain of the lorry and we went to straight to the scene."
In February, nine illegal Afghan immigrants were discovered by employees at Turners haulage and distribution centre in Fordham after workers heard a knocking sound coming from under a lorry.
