Five more held over funeral attack

FIVE further arrests have been made in connection with an incident following a funeral in Newmarket when a man was attacked with what was believed to be a machete.
A 44-year-old man from Watford, Hertfordshire, a 17-year-old youth from Cranleigh, Surrey, and a 40-year-old man from Annan in Scotland have been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder. They have been bailed to Bury St Edmunds police station next month.

A 17-year-old youth from Chesterton in Cambridgeshire has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and a 48- year-old man from Cranleigh, Surrey, has been arrested on suspicion of assisting offenders.

Both have also been bailed to Bury St Edmunds police station to appear later this month and next month.

Thomas Frankham, 43, of Cranleigh in Surrey has already appeared in court charged with the attempted murder of Michael Willett on June 5. He is currently in custody and is due to appear at Ipswich Crown Court on September 5.
