A SPECIAL re-dedication concert for St Felix School is being planned for early next month.
Former head teacher Tim Young, who is organising the event, said he hoped it would send a message of hope to all parents and pupils of the school which was destroyed by fire last week.
"We want to say St Felix is alive and well and want to reassure parents and children that the school will go on providing the high quality education that it always has done and being an integral part of the community," he said.
"The school has a long history stretching backwards and, hopefully, a long history stretching forwards."
Mr Young said Tattersalls, Newmarket's world famous bloodstock auctioneers, had offered its sales ring as a venue for the concert which was likely to be staged early next month before the start of the new term.
"We would like to see present pupils and parents as well as past pupils and staff, in fact anyone who has been connected with the school over the years," he said.
"We will be slightly limited in what we can do but I am sure our steel band will do something with some borrowed instruments and there will be some singing. I hope to have contributions from past pupils linked with the school over the past 30 years."
Mr Young said he was also hoping to put together a souvenir programme with pictures and stories about the school.
