A BARTON Mills man died when he was knocked off his bike by a car, an inquest heard.
Accounts manager Graham Peachey, 45, of Mildenhall Road, died on November 12 when he was knocked off his bike by a car just after 8am.
The inquest heard how Brian Camps, who was driving up a hill on the same side of the road, hit Mr Peachey as he drove towards Tuddenham on the Herringswell Road near the A11 in low morning sunshine.
Mr Camps, who drove on the road four times a week, turned to look in his mirror after his car had struck Mr Peachey, whose bike ended up on the side of the road.
In a statement to police, Mr Camps estimated his speed at between 50 and 60 mph and said his visibility had been impaired by the sun.
Police accident investigators said although there were no problems with the road surface there were problems with visibility.
Mr Peachey was wearing black clothing which the inquest heard would have made him difficult to spot.
Recording a verdict of accidental death, Greater Suffolk coroner Dr Peter Dean said: "It does appear what happened on that day was an accident.
"It would appear that Mr Camps did not see the cyclist. This was a very sad accident and our thoughts and condolences are with the family."
No further action is being taken against Mr Camps.
