A COFFEE morning will be held in Lidagte to raise funds for a charity which supports the welfare of farm animals.
The compassionate coffee morning aims to raise awareness and funding for Compassion in World Farming on Saturday.

"This event will be a chance to socialise with like-minded people within or community who have a passion for animal welfare," said Moira Walsh, from the West Suffolk group, which has organised the event.

"There will be homemade cakes available, Compassion in World Farming leaflets and Christmas cards available to purchase.

"As a community event it would be wonderful to see residents in the local area to come along and show their support for farm animal welfare whilst enjoying a cake or two - made with free-range eggs."

Compassion for World Farming was founded more than 40 years ago in 1967 by a British farmer who became horrified by the development of modern, intensive factory farming.

The coffee morning starts at 10am and runs to 1pm at the Lidgate Village Hall.
