BURWELL organisations were awarded much-needed donations during a special presentation evening.
Twenty-seven groups, including Burwell Brownies, Burwell Early Learners and Burwell Day Centre, each received a slice of £7,300 raised at this year’s Burwell Carnival held in June.

The cheques were presented at a ceremony at Burwell Ex-Service Club by carnival king Sam Warnock and carnival queen Sasha Patchett.

All the organisations which received money took part in the carnival either as entertainment, a float in the procession or helping to set the event up.

John Rollin, carnival committee chairman, said they were delighted with the amount raised thanks to the support of the local community and businesses.
