PARISHIONERS in three villages surrounding Mildenhall have been saying farewell to their vicar who is leaving her post after six years.
The Rev Stefanie Hodges, who is team vicar for the churches at Beck Row, Icklingham and Eriswell, will be moving on at the end of the month to take on her new role at St Francis Church in Surrey.

She said: "I've enjoyed my time here. It has been a challenge but an enjoyable one. I just feel the time is right to move on. There are lots of good memories I will take from my time here."

Earlier this month, more than 200 people packed St Laurence and St Peter's Church in Eriswell for the 53 year old's final service.

"I was absolutely amazed by how many people were at the service. I've been overwhelmed by the letters and cards from well-wishers," she added.

Before moving to the area in 2002, Miss Hodges spent five years as a vicar in the Southwark dioceses of Sutton in Surrey.
