A NEW headteacher has joined Mildenhall's Great Heath Primary School.
Steven Vincent started at the St John's Close school three weeks ago and replaces former head Yvonne Cash, who left last summer.

Prior to joining Great Heath, the 38 year old was headteacher for four-and-a-half years at Southery Primary School in Norfolk.

Before taking up that post, Mr Vincent was deputy head at a large junior school in Cirencester, Gloucestershire, where he worked for five years.

He was also a class teacher with specialist responsibility for ICT at a primary school in Downham Market and began his teaching career at a school in Shropshire.

Mr Vincent lives in Lakenheath with his wife Emma, who is headteacher at Swaffham Prior Primary School.

"Great Heath is a really good school so I am very pleased to be here. I want to build on its current strength and make it the most successful school it can be," he said.
