THIS year's school holiday Summer Activity Programme has started with a splash at Mildenhall Swimming Pool.
A new liquid trailer has been packed with special equipment such as jet skis, underwater scooters, inflatable canoes, underwater frisbees and walking the plank games.

It will be operating today between 9am and 11.30am and the price is £3 for adul
ts, £2 for juniors and £1 for under 5s.

On Saturday, there is the chance to discover scuba diving and learn the basics of diving in a warm and safe environment with a fully qualified instructor.

Children aged eight and over can learn how to become a bubble maker from 10am to 11am and those over 10 can take a scuba lesson from 11.30am to 12.30pm.

Places must be booked in advance and the price is £21.

Later in the summer, there is a rookie life-saving camp between August 26 and 29. Y

oungsters can learn survival and life-saving skills in and out of the pool, increase their confidence and learn how to have fun and be safe in and around water.

The camp is for seven to 14 year olds and places must be booked in advance.The price is £30 or £25 for concessions.

Just before the new term begins, there is a back to school water disco with a DJ playing all the latest music.

It will be held on Friday, August 29 from 2pm to 4pm. All ages are welcome.
