RESIDENTS of Riverside Close in Mildenhall unveiled a special bench and flower garden in memory of two friends on Saturday.
Doris McCarthy and John Saunders died last year and fellow residents got together to raise money for something to remember them by.

"We thought it would be better than flowers at the funeral," said Wendy Chipping, warden of the sheltered housing where the two lived.

The garden is in memory of Mrs McCarthy and the bench of Mr Saunders.
Family and friends from as far as Reading came for the dedication.
