FAMILIES of pupils from a primary school in Mildenhall got into the camping spirit at a recent campover on the school's field.
For one weekend only St Mary's Primary school, Mildenhall, was awash with tents and caravans as families came together to participate in traditional games like tug of war as well hold a large barbecue.

Alison Earl, assistant director of learning at the school, said: " The whole idea was to encourage family participation. We had over 300 people turn up to the event which was fantatstic."

For the past six years the popular campover has been organsied by teacher Sarah Widger who is leaving the school at the end of term.

"We must say a special thanks to Sarah Widger for coming up with and organising the event. Rest assured a new face will be running it again next year," added Mrs Earl.

This year's event raised more than £1,000 which will be used to buy new laptops for the school.
