TICKETS are selling fast for this year’s pantomime production by the Stetchworth-based Ellesmere Devils Panto Society.

And the show, Treasure Island, was given a very successful dry run across the channel in Paris on Saturday as part of the society’s annual visit to Newmarket’s twin town of Maisons Lafitte.

“This year’s show was sold out and highly acclaimed by everyone there,” said Sarah Mardon of the Ellesmere Devils.

“The troupe was generously accommodated by the twinning society and enjoyed comfortable lodgings and also a magnificent dinner laid on by the host families.”

Now the panto switches to its home stage at the Ellesmere Centre, Stetchworth, where it opens on Wednesday for a four-day run.

This year’s cast includes Carol Collins, Wayne Stevens, Jo Charlesworth, David Blair, Frank Barker, Simon Park and Jackie Crisp.

The performances on Friday, February 10, and Saturday, February 11, are sold old but there were still some tickets available for Wednesday, February 8, and Thursday, February 9, when the Journal went to press.
